Meet Parker

I started my wildcrafting journey...

...in 2019 and have been knees deep in the woods since! I had been into a plant based diet for years prior to my herbalism discovery, but didn't find wildcrafting and folk medicine until later on my plant walk. I have a special affinity to Women's Reproductive Health and believe our Sacral Chakra/our womb is a secret power. It's hard to explain the story of a folk herbalist. The plants and myself have a relationship and they have asked me to share their medicine with the people. So birthed Honey Goddess. Picking flowers and leaves is my prayer. I believe it heals the world. There is nothing else I would rather do than be swept away in a spring breeze of Cherokee Rose or swoon at Golden Rod as Autumn approaches.

Nature is my teacher. Her language is not in words and presentations, but in messages and experiences. I have lived on her naked body, foraging wild food for meals, boiling my water from her rivers and creeks, sleeping on the dirt with a sheepskin beneath me and making my medicine with her flowers. Many people wonder why I would choose to go through periods of my life living like this, thinking its absolutely preposterous! But to me it is my biggest freedom. The best way to learn the Earth is to spend time with her; the deeper you go, the more she will reveal. She is a protector and a generous, loving mother. I don't fear nature in the slightest, but have the upmost respect for her and her cycles of death and rebirth.  I can't quite explain a "how-to" on my process of learning about wild herbs and plants other than the Earth wants to connect with us and she will easily lend a branch if only we reach out.

Education

Healing Arts

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia where my journey of mental and emotional wellness started. During my education, I felt a disconnect with the traditional Western modalities of mental health diagnosis and prescribing pharmaceuticals to cope with imbalances; I knew my dharma was to help others thrive in their bodies and meet their potential with natural and holistic wellness that feels GOOD!

I believe that working with a practitioner that hears your story and circumstances from the heart space is greatly missing in modern day mental healthcare and is a potent form of medicine.

Nonviolent Communication

I started practicing yoga in 2013 as a restorative practice to my extensive athletic background. As time went on and I began to incorporate yoga philosophy and meditation into my daily routine and big shifts started happening. I got off pharmaceutical stimulants, dropped the alcohol addiction and began eating a plant-based diet. To deepen my practice I completed my 200 YTT in Hatha Yoga in 2018 and began teaching weekly classes. My life was transforming and my dreams of how I wanted to structure my life started becoming true. I decided this was my path and completed a 200 KRI Kundalini Yoga Teacher certification in 2020.

In 2021, I developed a deep connection with Reiki and the healing that can be conducted with 1-on-1 sessions. I completed my Reiki Levels 1 + 2  in 2022.

I started taking workshops and classes on Nonviolent Communication (Compassionate Communication) in 2018. NVC uses a feelings and needs based model with the understanding that all humans have a universal set of feelings and needs. When needs are not met, this can cause a soup of uncomfortable feelings and a slew of toxic after affects to desperately get our needs met. When we can identify our unmet needs, we can then make requests and find solutions to restore harmony in our emotional world.

An experienced NVC friend and myself would get together weekly and have "empathy sessions". In these sessions we would listen and allow the other person to release and talk about whatever was holding them back. Uninterrupted, the listener would jot down different feelings and needs that the other person was expressing. The listener would then reflect back what they heard and validate what the speaker was experiencing.

This simple practice was life-changing for me and continues to be my go to for when I need empathy, support and to be seen in my distress. My relationship with myself and others in my life has improved drastically and I am able to show up authentically in my heart space.

Nutrition

have been eating a plant-based diet since 2017 and witnessed the transformational effects that plants can have on our mental, emotional and psychical wellness. I dropped 25 pounds, my anxiety melted, my depression was more manageable and my vigor for life was exponential. In my 200 YTT, we extensively experimented with the results of adopting a Whole Food Plant Based Vegan diet and it is by far my biggest and most helpful medicine to date. I learned to shop, cook and meal prep for my health and I want to share this best kept secret with the world of those searching for a sustainable lifestyle change that adds years to your life. In my Honey Session Consultations, I coach you and create a personalized action plan as well as offer accountability and support for your walk with a plant-based lifestyle.
